Bruce Urquhart, BCom, CA, (PP), Founder & Director

Bruce has been a qualified chartered accountant for 30 years. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and holds a certificate in public practice.

Much of Bruce’s career has been in the international corporate arena, having worked in senior financial roles for global packaging company, Amcor Ltd, in New Zealand and in France. In these roles Bruce gained sound experience in business & financial planning, corporate finance, taxation, and governance.

He was a director of Amcor Packaging (New Zealand) Ltd.

Bruce also worked for the international software company, Kiwiplan, as the group CFO and as General Manager of the NZ development office, and has a good understanding of IT in today’s business world.

Leaving the corporate world, Bruce gained experience in the not-for-profit and education sector, having been the CFO for a not for profit incorporated society and registered charity, Skills4Work.

In 2012 Bruce formed “Bruce Urquhart Chartered Accountant Ltd” to provide accounting services to the public, including taxation, financial statements, company formations, rental properties, business advice, valuations and audit services.

In addition to companies, small businesses, partnerships, and individuals, Bruce provides services to charitable organisations, trusts, clubs, and societies.

With the integration of the client base of Mike Dickie Chartered Accountant upon his retirement in March 2022, the firm began practicing as “Guardian Accounting”.

Outside of work, Bruce enjoys classic cars and is an active member of the Jaguar Drivers Club; Bruce and his wife, Andrea, love to travel, and were “puppy walkers” for Blind Low Vision NZ Guide Dogs. They live in Howick with former guide dog, Bronte.
